Step 1: Sketch it!
Step 2 : Lineart it!
Step 3 : Color it flat!
Step 4 : Render it with details : shadows, highlights and fx thingies!
Step 5 : KISS MY BUTT- TOCKS!
Ok for serious, Tutorial vids are great, inspiring and fun to watch but they are useless if you don't apply them hands-on.
You can't expect to improve your skills just by watching tutorials on youtube all day. You have to do it!
So here's step 5 : JUST DO IT! DRAW EM!

JUST DO IT!
Y'know, oddly this helped me more than like 75% of all the tutorials I have saved in my favorites... -_-
I'm such an idiot.
can you go more in depth for step 4 like how to render how to add shadows its easy to
tell people just do this or do that good tutorial btw XD
i agree with beauhappyday this is not a tutorial this showing off
he does not go in depth for any of the steps like how to add shadows etc he just
say do this then then do that lol
Simple, yet effective
haha, but good on you for the tut. your advice on just going for it is good. people have to have learn to find their own way of doing things. Besides, there are HEAPS of tutorials out there for beginners on digital colouring. I think once you know the very basics, you're good to go.
Though I reckon most people will want to know the nitty gritty of step 4 so they can take away your secrets of gettin' the awesome on, but I think it's a "look and learn" thing.
Step 1: Uh-huh.
Step 2: Yeah, okay.
Step 3: Got it.
Step 4: Asdfghjkl what sorcery is this?!"
