Voltes machines 3D by bleedman Voltes machines 3D by bleedman
tutorials

From where I live Voltes 5 is the most popular robot of all time compared to Combattler V, this was made with the 3D max studio software. Many commented that they look like toys, how I wish they were so I could get my hands on them.
I'm not really fond of 3ds but when I realize that 3d max can create 2d cell shading effects I just had to give a shot. Also ,it can import vector line arts directly into flash.

You know, if you want to get a real toy of the Voltes V, Soul of Chogokin makes a nice model of it, fully articulated and splits up like it should.

i forgot to say that you did an amazing job on this. and yes, they do look like toys (especially with the primary color scheme). transformers were my favorite toys as a kid, so i sat here looking at it trying to figure out exactly how they fit together :)

this reminded me of Voltron and Robotech right away, but it also made me think of Star Fleet. ever heard of that show? it was a show with marionette puppets in spaceships. the bad guys' ships looked like centipedes and the good guys had ships that combined to make a red robot. nobody else seems to remember it. i ate that shit up as a kid. :D

I've never gotten to the cell shading part of 3Dsmax (takes to long to render). The best 3d program for cellshaded tho is Animation Master :D
